Right now I am discovering that even though there is a lot happening because of the immense amount of snow in Haarlem – there is a silence in an environment which is completely shrouded in snow.
People are moving cars, bicycles are covered in snow, children are playing, the lights are all on and everything is in slow motion – and it is silent.
The noisiest of all is the colour – everything is white, but then out of the corner of your eye there will be something bright red approaching – it is so noisy in this silent still landscape.
And if you are lucky it will be someone in red on a bicycle – and if you are unlucky you will not have the camera with you.
