Sent in response to a wooden toothbrush holder with a timer sent to her preschool son Viggo for Christmas. It was beautifully made and painted in bright bright colours. I have no idea where it was made but I did buy it in the Netherlands.
**I used that Dutch teethbrushing timer thingy today – who knew 3 minutes would take sooo long. It explains something that me and an Aussie friend thought was highly amusing. We were travelling in Ireland many many years ago, and staying in a hostel in Sligo and we shared a room with these (who we presumed were) German girls. One of them brushed her teeth and we thought she would never stop. It was one of those moments when you keep looking at each other, communicating without words and try not to crack up laughing (When is this girl going to stop! Are her gums bleeding yet?) When she left the room we both creased up about how long it took her to brush her teeth.
We put it down to her being an uptight, anally-retentive Northern European. Who knew that she was a poster girl for the Dutch Dental Association.
I will be using that timer from now on.
Viggo, on the other hand, couldn’t last the distance. But maybe, with training, some ignorant Antipodeans might be laughing at him behind his back in an Irish hostel someday.
Hope you enjoyed all the Christmas celebrations and have a happy new year.
Love Diane
